History (is) For Dummies…

History is the great educator, should we choose to embrace its lessons. The first two decades of the 21st Century have ushered in the consequences of raising a generation, educated by fools, absent the guidance of dying heroes and unwilling to heed any historical context or reason. Thus, the 2018 midterm elections gave us the confused ramblings of an upstart “Millennial” congresswoman who lacks even the most basic understanding of this constitutional republic, and who has already been anointed the new standard bearer for the Democrat Party by a free press which has its own issues with truth and facts.

To be clear, the by-products of socialism are not even debatable my friends. To challenge this is simply denial, vanity and/or a simple aversion to truth. Nevertheless, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) have submitted an undeniably socialist in its content resolution, dubbed “the green new deal” for consideration in the United States House of Representatives. The resolution proposes legislation that would certainly cripple our national economy and destroy the nation as we know it today. Unsustainable “Medicare for all” style healthcare, an unachievable net-zero greenhouse gas emissions goal by 2030, stifling business regulations, government takeovers of major utility interests, and tax codes which would punish success and completely suffocate the entrepreneurial spirit that allowed a single nation to inspire and lift up the world, are just some of the plans they no longer speak of behind closed doors for fear of political ridicule.

Now you can go ahead and read the resolution as I have and we may debate individual aspects of it. However, the reality is the Democrat Party has been infiltrated by a group of aspiring young and radical socialists, who like a certain former president, have chosen a road of denial for convenience, not unlike the one I described in the first paragraph. And in their ideological minds, there is no debate. This is not the traditional right vs left argument any longer, so much as it is an argument over “fundamentally changing” this country, the early results of which have been a growing divide amongst the populous the likes of which we’ve never seen. Moreover and more regrettably, in the shadow of modern socialism’s failures 1700 miles south of Miami and historical letters which spell out a dire warning like a neon Las Vegas billboard, elected representatives and senators on Capitol Hill sat on their hands and hissed like partisan serpents when the President of the United States emphatically stated that the U.S. would never be a socialist nation, during his recent State of the Union address.

In the end, and by no means do I say this lightly, I believe we are facing the greatest existential threat we’ve ever faced as a people and as a nation, not necessarily from invasion or physical attack, as we’ve faced down in the past at great cost, but rather from within, an organized and long growing effort to snuff out and replace the greatest arrangement for human kind in all God’s world and time. So significant is this threat that it will truly require our extraordinary due diligence and intellectual honesty beyond anything we are seeing in Washington, to overcome this new and unprecedented political reality. Our young children will learn of the battles to come in their day and we must absolutely be victorious for their sake and for the sake of their children. You know, a great president once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction”. He was correct. Just the other night another great president said, “We were born free and we will stay free”. He too was correct…

Where do you stand at this critical juncture??

Think this is a little melodramatic? Check back with me next year at this time and we’ll talk…
