In the time period October 31 to December 3, 1800, one of the most, (if not the most) contentious presidential elections was held. So personal and vicious were the political punches thrown, that an endearing friendship between then President John Adams and Vice President Thomas Jefferson came to an end, and would not be revived until both men had long since exited the public service arena.
As a huge U.S. History buff, I bring this up for contextual reasons. You see, while Adams and Jefferson as well as their respective party affiliates, were deeply entrenched in their ideological beliefs, (much like today), and tried desperately to smear each other, it never would have occurred to them to “weaponize” a government office against the other. The reason for this was simple. They understood clearly, the government they had just broken off from by means of much personal sacrifice, blood and treasure. Furthermore, their first hand experience at the hands of said uncompromising and even brutal entity/enemy was very recently and now firmly embedded in their psyche’. And they just knew better.
So as we watch this circus event in that Manhattan courtroom wrap up this coming week, it occurs to me, our biggest hurdle going forward as a free republic is an uneducated electorate. And I’m not talking about education like the foolishness currently being taught in the public school system, or in the classrooms of the so-called “higher learning” colleges and universities. No, I’m talking about voters doing their due diligence on behalf of their posterity, by moving past the propaganda headlines of the elite “news” media, and seeking the truth. Because if we are going to be intellectually honest with ourselves and our fellow travelers to the grave, then there’s simply no way we can watch what’s going on with the American Judicial System today and turn a blind eye. To do so, is to plot our own destruction as well guarantee our children will likely fight a war, the likes of which has never before been seen on planet earth. It’s just that simple.
So as we stand at these crossroads and await the “verdict” of the jury in this judicial travesty, think very, very carefully about the big picture. Do not be swayed by the static coming out of your flat screen, but rather consider the consequences of this moment, and what it means for our country’s continued existence.
